TEXTILE AUTOMATION / IN DEVELOPMENT
Robotic fabric handling for textile manufacturers.
SewVertex is developing robotics to move and position flexible fabric, align it for the next operation and build toward integrated sewing. Based in Aalborg, Denmark, we welcome conversations with textile manufacturers and industrial partners about their production requirements.
From fabric positioning to sewing automation
A sewing operation begins before the needle enters the material. Fabric needs to arrive in the intended position and orientation, with the relevant edges aligned for the operation. Flexible textiles can bend, shift and change shape during handling, so the material and the process both matter when planning automation.
Our development starts with that handling step. The direction is to connect controlled fabric movement and alignment with sewing, so manufacturers can consider how these operations could fit into a production workflow. The handling, alignment and sewing sequence on our homepage illustrates this direction; it is a schematic explanation of the goal.
Our development focus
- Handle: develop controlled movement and positioning of flexible material.
- Align: bring fabric into the intended position for the next production step.
- Sew: build toward integrating the handling technology with sewing operations.
The technology is in development. Commercial systems are not yet available; specifications and supported materials remain to be established.
Planned textile applications
T-shirts and tote bags are the planned applications shown on our website. They give the development a concrete production context and are part of our ambition for Danish production. Their images are generated concept illustrations, rather than photographs of finished SewVertex products.
For manufacturers exploring garment production automation, the starting point is a specific operation. A fabric-positioning task and a complete sewing workflow have different requirements; our development conversations begin with the task and material involved.
What to discuss for your production process
A useful first conversation starts with the handling task you want to improve. Tell us about:
- The material: fabric type, stretch, thickness and the range of material variations you work with.
- The parts: panel sizes and shapes, how they arrive at the operation, and which edges or features need alignment.
- The operation: the movement, positioning or sewing step you are considering for automation, and how it connects to the surrounding workflow.
- The requirements: your quality criteria, production targets, product changes and practical space or integration constraints.
These details help frame the development discussion. Any future performance or compatibility commitment would need appropriate testing and an agreed specification.
Purchase, rental and development enquiries
Purchase and rental are future commercial routes under consideration. Pricing, availability and rental terms have not been set. We are interested in conversations with manufacturers, industrial partners and investors who understand this stage of development.
